Why This Exercise

One of the best bodyweight exercises for developing relative upperbody strength. It builds the lats, upper back and grip while teaching you to control and move your entire body through space. Qualities that help you stay strong and coordinated when your arms are repeatedly working at different positions on the pitch.

Coaching Cues
  • Start each rep with your shoulders controlled rather than completely relaxed.
  • Drive your elbows down toward your sides.
  • Keep your body controlled and avoid swinging or using momentum.
