Reps
20 (10 per fot)
This exercise builds: 120 Touches
How It Works
  1. Stand approximately 2–3 metres from your partner.
  2. Your partner throws the ball towards you at chest height.
  3. Control the ball with your chest, cushioning it down in front of you.
  4. Play the ball back to your partner's hands with the inside of your right foot.
  5. Repeat with the left foot, alternating: chest → right foot → chest → left foot.
  6. The ball should never touch the ground.
  7. If you don't have a partner, you can perform the exercise against a wall/rebounder.
Coaching Cues
  • Relax your chest on contact to cushion the ball down rather than letting it bounce away.
  • Stay balanced and adjust your position early to set up the next pass.
Progression
  • Progress to playing the return pass with the laces/instep instead of the inside of the foot.
  • Have your partner vary the height and speed of the throw, forcing you to adjust your chest control to different balls.
