Plank Shoulder Taps

Why This Exercise

Core strength for footballers is not all about crunches; it is about anti-rotation. When you are challenged in the air or jostled while sprinting, your core must lock down to prevent your upper body from twisting. This exercise forces your core and shoulder stabilizers to resist rotation, ensuring you stay balanced and strong during physical contact on the pitch.

Coaching Cues
  • Imagine a full glass of water resting on your lower back.
  • Tap your opposite shoulder slowly and deliberately without letting your hips sway or dip even a millimeter.
